The Jockey Club Institute for Medical Education and Development (JCIMED), a specialized division of the Academy, is committed to advancing professional training for healthcare practitioners. The institute will host the Portable (Handheld) Ultrasound Training Course, designed to equip healthcare professionals with essential skills to perform and interpret handheld ultrasound across key clinical applications. The course introduces participants to the basic scientific principles and practical knobology of ultrasound, familiarizes them with the applications and limitations of portable ultrasound devices, and provides hands-on experience in four selected modules, chosen from vascular, lung, abdomen, airway, and vascular access ultrasound techniques. Participants will gain practical insights into applying ultrasound skills in daily clinical practice, understanding core scanning principles, navigating commonly used portable ultrasound devices, and mastering targeted skill sets essential for clinical decision-making.
