We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the Seminar on Medical Negligence Litigation and the Dynamics of Settlement, jointly organized by the Task Force on Laws for Healthcare Practitioners under the Professionalism and Ethics Committee and the Jockey Club Institute for Medical Education and Development of the Academy and supported by Kennedys. The seminar is scheduled for 19 January 2026 (Monday), 6:00pm – 7:30pm.

Featuring Ms. Sophie Pearson, Associate at Kennedys UK, this seminar will examine how lawyers go about investigating whether a claim is defensible, the factors they consider when assessing whether to risk a trial, the thinking behind decisions to settle cases out of court and explore the tools available to achieve these settlements in the UK. With the Q&A Session, this seminar also offers a platform to discuss the scenarios in Hong Kong. In-person attendance is strongly encouraged.

Please find the event details, tentative programme and results of CME/CPD accreditation here.

Register now! Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register on or before 8 January 2026.

We look forward to your participation in this seminar.
