The 31st Annual Fellowship Conferment Ceremony and 2024 David Todd Oration were held at the Run Run Shaw Hall, Academy Building on 6 December 2024.

Appreciation and Recognition
Award for Distinguished Contributions
The Award for Distinguished Contributions was presented to the former Honorary Legal Advisor Mr. Woody Wah-yan Chang, who began to serve the Academy in 2019 and has generously contributed his time and expertise to provide professional advice on legal matters to the Academy on various issues. Mr. Chang decided to step down due to retirement, and the Academy Council has unanimously agreed that he deserves this award.

Presentation of Awards
During the ceremony, Prizes for Best Original Paper Award (BOPA), Best Original Research by Young Fellows (BORYF) and Best Original Research by Trainees (BORT) were also presented to the awardees.

2024 David Todd Oration
This year, the Academy is honoured to have Prof. Grace Tang, Chairman of The Medical Council of Hong Kong, and Academy’s Past President (2004 – 2008) and Honorary Fellow, to be the Orator to share her penetrating insights into the ‘Changing Landscape of Medicine in Hong Kong’.
Handover of the Presidential Badge
By the end of the ceremony, Prof. Gilberto Ka-kit Leung handed over the Presidential badge to the next President Prof. Philip Kam-tao Li. Prof. Leung then received the Past President Badge and Pin as the conclusion of his four-year Presidency.
