Young specialists shaping the future

The Academy jointly organised the ‘Shanghai-Hong Kong-Shenzhen Young Specialists' Study and Exchange Summit’ with the Shanghai Medical Doctor Association, the Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association and the SZ-HK Medical Specialist Training Centre on 16–21 March 2025, under the guidance of the Shanghai and Shenzhen Municipal Health Commissions.

The event brought together young specialists, medical experts and educators to explore specialist training systems, clinical education and healthcare innovation. Featuring symposiums, expert discussions and visits to leading Shanghai hospitals, it showcased advancements in digital healthcare, AI and precision medicine. Participants exchanged insights on specialist training models in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Shenzhen, strengthening interregional collaboration. The summit underscored the vital role of young doctors in driving medical modernisation, fostering interdisciplinary cooperation and shaping a globally integrated healthcare system, which lays the groundwork for future medical education reforms and developing a sustainable healthcare system.
