Prof. Philip Kam-tao Li

Prof. Li practises as Consultant Physician of the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong. He is Honorary Professor of Medicine and Director of Carol and Richard Yu Peritoneal Dialysis Research Centre of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof. Li is currently President of International Association of Chinese Nephrologists.

He was President of Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology, President of International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis, President of Hong Kong College of Physicians, President of Hong Kong Transplantation Society, Chairman of Central Renal Committee of Hospital Authority, Chairman of Hong Kong Society of Nephrology, and Co-Chair of World Kidney Day Steering Committee. He was also a member of Executive Committee and Council of International Society of Nephrology, and served on the Kidney Week Program Committee of American Society of Nephrology.

Prof. Li has been Visiting Professor at various universities and institutes in the world, including Harvard Medical School, Brown University and University of Virginia in USA, Nanjing University, Fudan University and Peking University in China, Nagoya University in Japan and Karolinska Institute in Sweden.

He has published over 620 original and review articles in peer-reviewed journals, 5 books and 22 book chapters, and delivered over 250 invited lectures at international congresses, meetings and academic institutions. Prof. Li has won several international awards including International Distinguished Medal 2012 of the National Kidney Foundation, USA, Priscilla Kincaid Smith Award 2020 of Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology and the Oreopoulos Award 2022 of International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis.
